Course Description
Overview/Content
UETDRMP018 replaces the existing UETDRMP007. This new course removes the prerequisite units.
UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel (commonly called “LVR” for Low Voltage Rescue) covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage apparatus — not including overhead lines or underground cables. This unit is delivered in combination with HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Learning Objectives
In the course you will physically demonstrate the following;
- Perform CPR on adult/infant (on floor/firm surface) manikins and use an AED and deliver a shock
- Ability to apply relevant WHS/OHS processes to control risk
- Maintain a live panel rescue kit
- Safely remove a casualty from a live low voltage panel
- Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
- Recognise and control hazards in line with WHS/OHS procedures.
- Identify the responsibilities and role of a Safety Observer.
- Check and maintain rescue equipment to ensure readiness.
- Safely remove a casualty from a live low voltage panel.
- Provide first aid for injuries such as burns and bleeding.
- Communicate with emergency services, participate in debriefs, and complete required reports.
- Secure the incident scene in accordance with workplace procedures.
Prerequisites
The successful completion of HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (commonly referred to as “CPR”). This Low Voltage Rescue course is delivered with CPR.
Enrolling in this course will automatically include the CPR and you will complete both units during the training.
Delivery Mode
The learning component and theory assessments are delivered as self-paced online units. It is a requirement to complete these before attending the face-to-face session for the practical assessments of the course.
Qualification Issued
A Statement of Attainment with units:
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide first aid
and UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel.
Certificate Validity
• CPR and LVR are valid for 12 months and must be completed every 12 months for anyone working on live LV panels.
•Provide First Aid units are valid for 3 years
