Course Description
Overview/Content
UETDRMP018 replaces the existing UETDRMP007. This new course removes the prerequisite units.
UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel (commonly referred to as “LVR” for “Low Voltage Rescue”) covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace. Combined Course with HLTAID009. This course is specifically designed to equip participants with critical skills in performing a rescue from a live low voltage panel and providing first aid in the workplace. By enrolling in this course, you will become a competent and confident responder in both electrical emergency situations and first aid situations.
Learning Objectives
In the course you will learn how to:
• Master the DRSABCD Action Plan: Learn the critical steps for emergency response.
• Recovery Techniques: Discover effective recovery positions and improvisation methods.
• CPR Proficiency: Perform CPR as a single rescuer and in team rotations.
• Emergency Response: Handle regurgitation or vomiting with confidence.
• Practical Experience: Practice on adult (floor) and infant (firm surface) manikins.
• AED Operation: Operate an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) with ease.
• Incident Management: Communicate effectively with emergency services, participate in debriefs, and complete incident reports.
• Apply WHS/OHS Processes: Implement safety measures to control risks effectively.
• Maintain Rescue Equipment: Keep your live panel rescue kit in optimal condition.
• Safe Rescue Operations: Remove a casualty from a live low voltage panel safely.
• First Aid Skills: Treat burns and bleeding injuries promptly.
• Incident Management: Secure the incident scene efficiently.
Prerequisites
The LVR course is delivered following CPR, so enrolling in LVR automatically enrolls you in CPR to do at the same time.
The physical ability required to complete this course is:
- To successfully complete this course, you must be physically able to complete the assessments which include:
- Performing uninterrupted CPR for at least two minutes on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
- Performing uninterrupted CPR for at least two minutes on an infant resuscitation manikin and
- Demonstrating safe manual handling techniques.
Delivery Mode
The learning component and theory assessments are delivered as self-paced online units, you must complete these before attending the face-to-face course in which you will undertake the practical assessments for the course.
Qualification Issued
A Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel.

Certificate Validity
CPR and LVR are valid for 12 months and must be completed every 12 months
