UETDRMP007 Course Description
Overview/Content
UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel (commonly referred to as “LVR” for “Low Voltage Rescue”) covers the performance of rescue procedures from live low voltage apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace. Combined Course with HLTAID011 Provide First Aid inclusive of HLTAID009 and HLTAID010. This course is specifically designed to equip participants with critical skills in performing a rescue from a live low voltage panel and providing first aid in the workplace. By enrolling in this course, you will become a competent and confident responder in both electrical emergency situations and first aid situations.
Learning Objectives
In the course you will Physically demonstrate the following;
•Perform CPR on adult/infant (on floor/firm surface) manikins and use Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and give a shock
•Ability to apply relevant WHS/OHS processes to control risk
•Maintain a live panel rescue kit
•Safely remove a casualty from a live low voltage panel
•Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
•Manage casualties with medical conditions such as;
•Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Choking, Shock
•Non-life threatening bleeding and Nose bleeds
•Minor wound cleaning and dressing
•Envenomation, using pressure immobilisation
•Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, using
•walk away with confidence when you respond to conditions simulated to a workplace/community setting
•Obtain consent, identification of history, signs and symptoms, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), while providing
appropriate treatment and monitoring the casualty
•Conveying details of incident to emergency services or advising casualty on any post incident action
•Providing an accurate verbal and written report of incident and review
Prerequisites
The specific course entry requirements are to have either
UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
or
UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
and
the successful completion of HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (commonly referred to as “CPR”). The LVR course is delivered with CPR, enrolling in LVR automatically enrolls you in CPR and you will complete both units during the training
Delivery Mode
The learning component and theory assessments are delivered as self-paced online units, you must complete these before attending the face-to-face course in which you will undertake the practical assessments for the course.
Qualification Issued
A Statement of Attainment with units:
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID011 Provide first aid
and UETDRMP007 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel.
Certificate Validity
•CPR and LVR are valid for 12 months and must be completed every 12 months for anyone working on live LV panels.
•First aid units are valid for 3 years

More About This Course
To successfully complete this course, you must be physically able to complete the assessments which include:
•Performing uninterrupted CPR for at least two minutes on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor
•Performing uninterrupted CPR for at least two minutes on an infant resuscitation manikin (firm surface)
•Demonstrating safe manual handling techniques to drag a casualty
