Looking to renew your First Aid qualification? Our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid Refresher Course is the ideal way to update your knowledge, meet compliance requirements, and stay confident in an emergency. This comprehensive refresher clusters three nationally recognised units — HLTAID011, HLTAID010 and HLTAID009 — into one practical and efficient session.
Perfect for individuals who hold a current or recently expired certificate, this course is workplace-compliant, fully accredited, and aligns with the latest Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and national clinical guidelines.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this refresher course, you’ll be able to:
- Perform CPR and use an AED with confidence.
- Responding appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting.
- Manage casualties with medical conditions such as; Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Non-life threatening bleeding minor wound cleaning and dressing, nose bleeds, choking, shock, envenomation, using pressure immobilisation,
fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains. - Use infection control measures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Complete accurate verbal using S.A.M.P.L.E and written incident reports.
- Apply real-world first aid techniques in simulated scenarios.
- Understand legal responsibilities such as duty of care, consent, and confidentiality.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course however we note that:
This course is intended for students with a current or recently expired HLTAID011 certificate.
Minimum age: 14 years (students under 16 must have parental/ guardian consent).
Adequate English literacy and communication skills.
Physical capability to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.
Delivery Mode
Blended: 1 -1.5 hours online + 3-3.5 hours face-to-face.
Face-to-Face: – 6-6.5 hours classroom-based session.
(times are dependent on attendee numbers).
Qualification Issued
Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment in:
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Certificate Validity
First Aid certificate (HLTAID011): valid for 3 years
CPR component (HLTAID009): renewal recommended every 12 months
